 Happy New Year!
This is what we eat on the new year days.  Used to be made by each family, but nowadays ask for catering 🙂

Greg Kowalczewski – Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

It has been an interesting entry into 2011.  I hope everyone crossed the line happily and safely.

Gej – so what did the fireworks look like in Melbourne?  You must have been reading my mind.  I have never shot a “night scene” before – but this year I decided to give it a go (part of my mantra to shoot more things outside of sport).

This is a shot of the Melbourne fireworks viewed from Williamstown.  I came with a tripod but the crowd was too congested, so I ended up shooting hand held.  This ended up being a better strategy anyway because I had no idea where the fireworks coming from, apart from looking in a general direction.  The fireworks lasted around 9 minutes.

Ken Papai – San Rafael, California

Cheers and Happy New YEAR to ALL!

rainy morning in California right now… wow. (our local water supply reservoirs for Marin County are now 100% full — one of the earliest “full dates” on record)
